CDL-A Regional Driver
A privately held regional carrier running dry van freight across the Midwest is hiring company drivers out of its Kansas City terminal. Lanes stay within a 500-mile radius covering Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Illinois, with no-touch freight on the vast majority of loads. The fleet averages under three years old, all automatics, with APUs and inverters. Drivers are paid per mile with accessorial pay for detention, stops, and layovers, and the carrier posts a driver turnover rate well below the industry average.
Schedule
Out Monday, home Friday or Saturday; average 2,200–2,600 miles per week
Start Date
Orientation classes start every other Monday
What you'll do
- Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely across assigned regional lanes
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and log them electronically
- Maintain compliance with DOT hours-of-service and ELD requirements
- Communicate delays, breakdowns, and appointment changes to dispatch promptly
- Secure loads and verify paperwork at pickup and delivery
What we're looking for
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license
- 12+ months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last three years
- Clean MVR — no more than two moving violations in 36 months, no DUI
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen
- 21 years of age or older
