Logistics Coordinator
A growing third-party logistics provider serving importers through the Port of New York and New Jersey is adding a logistics coordinator to its drayage and inland transportation desk. You will be the day-to-day point of contact between customers, carriers, and warehouse partners, keeping loads moving and exceptions from becoming claims. The role converts to permanent after roughly 90 days, and the team has promoted two of its last three coordinators into account management. Prior port or drayage exposure is a plus but not required.

Monday–Friday, 8:00a–5:00p, hybrid with three days onsite in Newark

What you'll do
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with asset and non-asset carriers
- Track shipments in the TMS and proactively update customers on status and exceptions
- Resolve detention, demurrage, and appointment issues before they escalate
- Audit carrier invoices against rate confirmations and dispute discrepancies
- Maintain accurate load documentation including BOLs and PODs
What we're looking for
- 1–3 years of experience in freight brokerage, 3PL, or transportation operations
- Hands-on experience with a TMS (McLeod, MercuryGate, or similar)
- Strong phone and email communication under time pressure
- Proficiency in Excel for tracking and reporting
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience
