Registered Nurse — Med/Surg
A Magnet-designated hospital system in the Dallas metroplex has an immediate 13-week travel need on its 32-bed medical surgical unit. You will carry a 4:1 to 5:1 patient ratio alongside a stable core staff and a charge nurse who does not take an assignment. The unit sees a mix of post-operative, telemetry step-down, and general medical patients, with strong ancillary support from respiratory therapy and a dedicated lift team. Extensions are frequently offered to nurses who perform well, and the facility has converted several Bethel travelers to permanent staff.
Schedule
Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7p–7a), every third weekend
Start Date
Within 2–3 weeks of credentialing
What you'll do
- Deliver direct patient care for an assigned group of 4–5 medical surgical patients per shift
- Complete head-to-toe assessments, administer medications, and document in Epic
- Monitor telemetry, escalate changes in condition, and participate in rapid response as needed
- Coordinate discharge planning with case management, therapy, and the attending team
- Precept and support nursing assistants and float staff assigned to the unit
What we're looking for
- Active, unencumbered Texas RN license or compact multistate license
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute-care med/surg experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Ability to complete facility credentialing, drug screen, and background check
