Substitute Teacher Pool
Bethel Staffing Services maintains an active substitute teacher pool for public and charter schools across the Charlotte metro. Substitutes accept assignments through a mobile scheduling app and can pick up work as often or as rarely as they like — some in our pool work five days a week, others take two days a month. Long-term assignments covering maternity or medical leave are offered first to substitutes with strong school feedback, and those roles pay a higher daily rate. Onboarding is fast: most applicants are cleared and accepting assignments within a week.

What you'll do
- Follow the classroom teacher's lesson plans and maintain the daily schedule
- Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, and during transitions
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment
- Take attendance and follow all school safety and reporting procedures
- Leave written notes for the returning teacher on progress and behavior
What we're looking for
- Associate degree (60+ college credit hours) or higher
- Completed criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Reliable transportation to assigned school sites
- Comfortable working with elementary through middle school students
- Prior classroom or youth experience preferred but not required
