Litigation Attorney
A well-established mid-size civil defense firm in Atlanta is adding a litigation associate to its general liability and transportation defense teams. Unlike big-firm roles at the same salary band, this position offers real stand-up experience early: associates take and defend depositions within their first year, argue motions, and second-chair trials. The firm has a defined partnership track with transparent criteria and a billable target well below market. Caseloads are managed so that associates carry meaningful responsibility without burnout.
Schedule
Full-time; 1,850 billable hour target with flexible remote days

What you'll do
- Manage a caseload of civil defense matters from pleadings through resolution
- Draft motions, discovery requests and responses, and dispositive briefing
- Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses
- Attend hearings, mediations, and case management conferences
- Advise clients and carriers on case posture, exposure, and strategy
What we're looking for
- JD from an accredited law school and active Georgia bar admission
- 3–7 years of civil litigation experience, defense side preferred
- Demonstrated deposition and motion practice experience
- Excellent legal writing and research skills
- Comfort managing direct client and carrier communication
